Day 01: Arrival in Delhi

Arrival at New Delhi International Airport, meeting assistance by our representative who will welcome you and will provide transfer to the hotel. Upon reaching your hotel, you will be handed over the travel documents with a complete briefing of tour by the representative. Check-in and proceed to your room. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02: Delhi / Leh (Flight G8 193 0840 hrs / 0955 hrs)

Breakfast and check-out. Early morning transfer to the airport to board the flight to Leh. The crisp air of Leh, when you disembark from the airplane, welcomes you to this unpolluted Himalayan destination. You will be welcomed and transferred to hotel, where you will be briefed for your upcoming time in and around Leh. The remaining day is at leisure to relax and acclimatize for the high altitude of Leh. In the evening stroll around the Bazaars of Leh city. (Optional) Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 03: In Leh

Breakfast at hotel. Afterwards proceed for the half day sight-seeing of Leh city. First visit Sankar Gompa (closely associated with the Spituk monastery), Shanti Stupa (this stupa has a Japanese touch in its architecture) and Leh Palace (built in 17th century AD, it is now deserted). Evening is free. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 04: Indus Valley Monastery tour (120 Kms round trip)

After breakfast on day 3, drive to Thiksey village, pay a visit to Thiksey monastery (There are several temples in this Gompas, containing exqusite images, stupas and wall paintings of Buddha )and then drive off to Shey Village for visiting Shey Palace (once the residence of the royal family )and Gompa. Continue driving to Hemis monastery (one of the most famous monasteries of Ladakh). While heading back to Leh, enroute visit Stok Palace and Museum (displaying fabulous period costumes and jewelry of the royalty as well as exquisite Thankas representing the life style of Shakya Muni. Interesting historical objects like coins, armour, weapons, precious jades and porcelain too can be seen here. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 05: Leh / Alchi (75 Kms)

Breakfast and check-out. Drive to Alchi carrying packed lunch. On the way visit, Magnetic Hill (it is belived that if a vehicle here is pakred on a neutral gear, it still slides upwards on this mnetallic road), Confluence of Zanskar and Indus river (amazing view of two rivers getting merged) and Basgo Fort (it was once the seat of power of branch of a Namgyal family). Arrive at Alchi and visit Alchi Monastery which is almost 1000 years old and is not located on the hilltop. Dinner and an overnight stay at hotel / camp in Alchi.

Day 06: Excursion to Lamayuru (110 Kms round trip)

After breakfast, excursion to Lamayuru monastery (it is the oldest holy site in Ladakh). During the afternoon visit the Rizong monastery (it is a paradise for meditation with mno fee levied on it) and Chulichan nunnery (it offers clothes and food to the monks who perform prayers). Stay overnight in Alchi.

Day 07: Alchi / Leh

Breakfast and check-out. Today drive back to Leh, en route visiting Likir (originally founded in the 11th century but the present version was revamped in the 18th century) and Spituk (this monastery built in 15th century also has images of Kali) monastery. In the evening, visit Stok Palace and museum. Stay overnight at the hotel at Leh.

Day 08: Leh / Nubra via Khardungla Pass

Breakfast and check-out. Morning drive to Nubra Valley via the World Highest Motorable road (5602 Mts) Khardungla pass. Youi reach there by noon and check in at the Hotel / Camp. Evening will be at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel / camp.

Day 09: In Nubra

Today after having breakfast, proceed for a visit to the White Sand Dunes at Hunder. If you wish, you can enjoy the camel ride here. Pay a visit to Hunder (if you want you can stay in this village, and enjoy the small monastery) and Diskit (this monastery built in AD 1420, is a home to about 100 monks) monasteries. In the evening, trek to Samstaling (founded by Lama Tsultrim Nima and Monastic community has extremely strict rules) Monastery. O/N

Day 10: Nubra / Leh

Once you have breakfast proceed for Leh, driving via Khardungla pass (the World's Highest Motorable road). Evening is free for exploring the market of Leh for souvenir, visit Leh Jokhang (built in 1957, also has a statue of crowned Buddha, Joyo Rinpoche) or Leh Mosque (built in 1666-67 after an agreement between Ruler of Ladakh, Deldan Mangyal and Mughal Emperor, Aurangzeb) by foot. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 11: Leh / Delhi (By flight)

Morning transfer to the Leh airport to board the flight to Delhi: On arrival, transfer to the hotel for check-in. Rest of the day is free.

Day 12: Delhi / Departure

Breakfast and check-out, enjoy the full day sightseeing of New and Old Delhi. This morning explore India's capital city by touring its magnificent monuments, start your tour by visiting - Old Delhi: An ancient walled city earlier known as Shahjahanabad. Take a photo stop at Red Fort: the most opulent red sandstone fort and palace of the Moghul Empire (1639-1648 built by Shah Jahan the 5th Mughal Emperor of India and the builder of the Taj Mahal in Agra), visit Jama Masjid, Largest mosque in India, the foundation of the historic Jama Masjid was laid on a hillock in Shahjahanabad by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1650 AD, this mosque was the result of the efforts of over 6,000 workers, over a period of six years (1650-1656 AD). The cost of the construction in those times was 1 million rupees. This Mosque has three great gates, four towers and two 40 m-high minarets constructed of strips of red sandstone and white marble. About 25,000 people can pray here at a time. The mosque has a vast paved rectangular courtyard, which is nearly 75 m by 66 m. The whole of the western chamber is a big hall standing on 260 pillars. Visit Chandni Chowk, the bustling and colorful market of the old city, designed by Emperor Shah Jahan's daughter Jahanara Begum. Jahanara laid the foundation of Chandni Chowk, which is the largest trading center of Delhi as well as India. At present the street is a busy thoroughfare and is really congested. This area is renowned for 'Kuchas and Katras' also known as Alleys. These alleys house traditional Havelis, places of worship: Temples, Mosques, Church and Gurudwara, popular specialised markets and century-old eating joints. Enjoy a cycle-rickshaw ride. Visit the Raj Ghat, the memorial site of Mahatma Gandhi - Father of Nation. Later visit New Delhi designed and built by the British in the 1920's it's a city of wide boulevards impressive Government buildings, green parks and gardens. First drive past Connaught Place, the heart and main shopping district of the capital, then drive to Rajpath (King's Way), India Gate - the 42mt high stone 'Arch of Triumph', erected in the memory of Indian soldiers who died in First World War. Drive past Rashtrapati Bhawan (President Palace) and Parliament House. Sightseeing will also include drive past the elegant Lodhi Garden and Safdarjung's tomb. Later visit Qutab Minar 12th century minaret built by Qutub-ud-din Aibek of the Slave Dynasty - this building complex dates back to the onset of Muslim rule in India and is fine example of Afghan architecture which is graceful and well sculptured and stands 75 mt. Also visit the Baha'i Temple (Lotus Temple) Lotus being a symbol of peace and prosperity all around the world, the shape of the temple personifies the purpose for which the foundation of this marvelous man-made architectural was laid. Lotus temple is made of pristine marble blocks, cement, dolomite and sand and the entire ascetic value is coddled by the group of nine pools filled with crystal clear water. In accord with the mores of Baha'i religion, the temple is open to everyone from anywhere in the world who is looking for inner peace & tranquility. Your vehicle and driver are at your disposal until your departure transfer to the airport. Later you are transferred to the airport in time to board your flight to onward destination.
